Work Sessions

The Work Session is held on the first Tuesday of each month and provides the Board of Commissioners an opportunity to discuss County business, review upcoming agenda items, receive reports or presentations, and address matters requiring further consideration. Public participation is permitted during the Work Session in accordance with the County’s adopted public participation and decorum policies. Unless otherwise provided by law or properly noticed for action, the Work Session is primarily intended for discussion and review.

Regular Meetings

The Regular Meeting is held on the first Thursday following the Work Session, during the same week, and serves as the official business meeting of the Board of Commissioners. During this meeting, the Board may consider agenda items, make motions, vote, adopt resolutions or ordinances, approve expenditures, make appointments, and take other official action. Regular Meetings do not generally include a general public comment period.

Public Hearings

Public Hearings are scheduled on an as-needed basis and will be advertised as required. A Public Hearing is a formally advertised meeting or portion of a meeting held to receive public input on a specific matter before the Board, such as zoning or land-use matters, ordinances, budgets, or other matters requiring a public hearing by law. Members of the public are provided an opportunity to speak regarding the advertised matter in accordance with applicable law and the County’s established hearing procedures and decorum requirements.
