Over the last five years, the Brantley County Board of Commissioners has worked to provide meaningful property tax relief for Brantley County residents.
✔ Property taxes have been reduced by 16.46% in unincorporated areas ✔ Property taxes have been reduced by 14.04% in the two cities ✔ In 2025 alone, taxes were reduced by 6.4% in unincorporated areas and 7% in the cities
Our Commissioners remain mindful of rising property values and continue working to provide relief for property owners while maintaining quality county services. Brantley County’s current Homestead Exemption is stronger than those provided in recent House Bills, and Commissioners will continue working closely with state leadership to support local taxpayers
Brantley County has received questions regarding land use decisions and the approval process. To provide clarity, the information below outlines how land use matters are reviewed under the County’s Land Use Ordinance.
The Land Use Ordinance, adopted in 2016, establishes a required legal process for reviewing and approving land use amendments and special exceptions. The Brantley County Board of Commissioners cannot fast-track land use approvals outside of this process.
As part of our commitment to transparency, the Brantley County Board of Commissioners would like to share a webinar recently provided by the Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG). This webinar offers general information about data centers and county considerations. The information is being shared to help keep our community informed.
