The Brantley County Transfer station located at 130 Landfill Road in Nahunta will be hosting a 3-day scrap tire amnesty event on October 10th, 11th and 12th 2024.

All tires will be accepted WITHOUT rims.

Tires with the rims mounted on them will NOT be accepted and turned away.·

Passenger car/Pick-up tires will be accepted with a 12-tire limit per household.

Truck (semi tractor trailer) tires will be accepted with a 4-tire limit per household or business.

Tractor(farm) tires and/or heavy equipment (tree farmer/logging) tires are accepted with a 2-tire limit per household or business.

All patrons will be checked for residency within Brantley County and must show proof.

Hours of operation will be from 8:00a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

A Public Hearing will be held on May 23rd, 2024 in the Board of Commissioners Building at 6 pm. The purpose of the hearing is to address the Brantley County Land Use Ordinance – Amending the Land Use Ordinance of Brantley County, Georgia to add Camping on Public Land provisions to the ordinance. A copy of the proposed amendment can be found online at: brantleycounty-ga.gov or a copy can be obtained at 33 Allen Road, Nahunta, Ga 31553.

This amendment includes the parameters of the new district and amendment to the Land Use District Grid Sheet. Persons interested in serving are asked to submit a resume or statement as to why they would like to serve to the County Commissioners Office at 33 Allen Rd. Nahunta, GA 31553. Submissions will be accepted until board positions have been filled.
